It’s here! It’s finally here!

That’s right: I got word this morning that our long-awaited Wooden Worktops page is now fully functional. I could barely contain my excitement and rushed over there right away to admire all 23 of our distinct timbers!

Each type of wood is depicted in both an in situ and close-up grain image so you can get a really good look at everything before you commit to buy. Oh, and did I mention the wonderful accessories we also stock to help keep your worktop in tip-top shape?

Oh, but I’m waffling! It’s something you just have to see for yourself.

So what are you waiting for? Indulge your inner kitchen designer with our absolutely fab range of solid wood worktops today!

Hi-diddly-hi!

Your favourite diarist here, just swinging by for a quick hello.

Now then. I’ve got to be honest, I’m a little distracted today: I’ve got worktops on the brain. There are just so many great things about solid wood: sustainable, natural, unique, innately hygienic and hardwearing… and then, of course, there’s how it looks. Gorge. Fabby dabby. Absolutely super.

Pick a colour – golden, bronze, chocolate, midnight – we’ve got it. Exotic, familiar, classic – got that too. From beautiful beech to vunderful wenge, iridescent iroko to banging bamboo, marvellous maple to cherishable cherry, deTerra has it all. And of course we know it’s All About Oak, too; so we’ve got plenty of varieties in stock. Can’t forget that old favourite.

Our worktop page will be fully browsable and the products fully pickable early next week, so you can load up your shopping basket and order online – easy peasy!

Keep your eyes fixed on that worktops page for future updates!

Howdy guys and gals,

Magazine time again – man, I love this part of my job. Already today I’ve seen some ace cushions and a handy wicker basket, and I’m not even at the deTerra bit!

…oh yeah. I should have mentioned that first, probably, shouldn’t I? Ahem.

So yes, the reason for me flipping through this magazine in the first place is because there’s a lovely deTerra mention! The magazine in question is Your Home, excellent for quelling those glossy cravings without breaking the bank, cramming plenty of affordable, stylish suggestions into its crisp pages. And deTerra happens to be one of its top picks this month, in a feature all about how natural materials can enhance your kitchen! Lookie lookie lookie:

‘Offering a good range of solid wood worktops and cabinets, deTerra is a one-stop shop for a wooden kitchen. You can create your own custom-designed kitchen with a choice of sinks, taps and appliances’

Custom-designed! One-stop shop! Awesome, eh? Not to mention true – we might be biased but we think the deTerra collection contains everything you could possibly need to create your dream kitchen. And it’s all natural, too!

Well, that’s enough from me – I’ve got some more reading to do. I’d offer to lend you my copy of Your Home but I’m not big on sharing (soz) so you’ll have to pick up your own; look for us in the May edition, on sale in shops now.

It’s official – build-your-own kitchens rock!

Data published by leading experts GfK indicates that ‘room specific’ DIY is growing year-on-year, with kitchens seeing the biggest increase – 12% value growth.

Now I’m not great with figures – unless we’re talking about finding a way to justify a new dress/skirt/whatever in the January sales, in which case I’m a whiz at making the numbers work – but apparently that’s pretty groovy. Couple that with the fact that cooking and home improvement television is experiencing a real boom, and it seems that constructing your own kitchen is not only easy and cost-effective, it’s totally fashionable!

So if you fancy being a Trendy Wendy and getting your own kitchen groove on, be sure to check out the deTerra catalogue. Our gorgeous, eco-friendly products are customisable and comprehensive, and you can mix and match to your heart’s desire – we want you to create your dream kitchen and we want it to be fun, too. If you aren’t thinking of doing the whole room right now, you can start small; just changing your worktop or your frontals can completely change the look (like new shoes or a handbag. Man, I love accessorising).

All this talking has made me think that it’s high time I revamped my own kitchen… time for a bit of browsing, methinks – I simply adore being on trend…
