Hey there kitchen lovers,

If you are about to purchase one of our scrumptious oak kitchens, or have just ordered from us, we wanted to remind you about our case study competition, which is open to all customers who have placed an order with us over the value of £2,000.

The idea’s simple – if you live within 50 miles of our Gloucestershire showroom and don’t mind providing us with some ‘before’ pictures of your kitchen, you could get a £250 refund on your order simply by allowing our friendly photographic team to pay you a visit once your kitchen is complete (within six months of purchase).

Once the photos are ready, we will display them on our customer reviews page along with your feedback about your new oak kitchen cabinets, solid wood worktops and the other wooden kitchen components used to create your new kitchen.

If you don’t mind the idea of showing your kitchen off to future customers of deTerra Kitchens, we would love to hear from you! If you have already ordered your kitchen, then send the details and pictures of your existing kitchen to sales@deterra-kitchens.co.uk.

If you are about to purchase your new kitchen and think it would be a suitable candidate for our case study competition, then don’t forget to mention it to one of our advisors when placing your order.

Ta ta for now,

Salutations solid wood fans,

So you’ve decided to treat yourself to a new kitchen, but you really want to achieve the look of a bespoke wooden kitchen without the hefty price tag. Fortunately at deTerra Kitchens we offer a huge selection of oak kitchen units, wooden kitchen doors, solid wood worktops, and many other components, which together can be combined to create stunning natural kitchens at a fraction of the price.

And just because a deTerra kitchen is created with off-the-shelf cabinets and accessories, it doesn’t mean your kitchen design has to be limited or boring – far from it! We also offer a variety of specialist cabinets that are simple additions, but can create real character in any kitchen.

Considering a Belfast sink or in-built appliance? Check out our range of Belfast Sink Cabinets or Oven Housing Cabinets to effortlessly fit them into your wood kitchen alongside our other base cabinets.

To add a unique feature to a run of base or wall cabinets, or create rounded corners on a kitchen island, take a peek at our curved base unit, curved wall unit or open ended base unit. Combined with curved plinths, cornices and pelmets, these cabinets are great alternatives to a standard corner unit.

If you are looking to make the most of the space available on your walls above a cooker, sink or any other area of the kitchen, our specialist wall units are perfect for maximising your kitchen storage. Choose from either a 290mm high or 360mm high unit up to 1200mm in length.

Finally, if you consider yourself somewhat of a wine connoisseur, why not include one or two of our wine rack units into the design of your kitchen? Available in a 150mm wide unit to store 5 bottles, or a 300mm wide unit to store 10, these units are an ideal way of storing your favourite tipple.

No matter the size or shape of kitchen, our wide variety solid wood cabinets can be combined to create a truly stunning kitchen, particularly if you kit it out with a selection of our specialist cabinets, too!

Examples of all of the unique cabinets in our collection can be seen at one of our deTerra kitchens showrooms, so why not take a trip to see us today?

Mellow greetings, one and all,

Here at deTerra we’re more than proud of our fabulous wooden kitchens; we’re downright obsessed with them. So when we learned about an artist called Livio de Marchi who has created entire households and furnishings that are constructed solely from wooden art – from dining tables to pushchairs – we had to take a closer look!

De Marchi’s houses, which can be found in Germany, Japan and the Venetian countryside, are more than just wooden structures: these are living art installations. Each house contains amazing wooden creations: full-sized dining tables and chairs, bookcases lined with books carved from timber, and even a bedroom with a teddybear constructed from wood and an array of magnificently carved clothing (with each piece looking so real that you would be forgiven for wanting to try it on!).

When it comes to his love of working with timber, the artist puts it best himself, commenting: ‘I have had so many ideas and dreams in my head and it’s great that I’ve been able to create everything that I’ve always imagined. […] Wood has always been my favourite material, it is alive and has energy – and it gives me a lot of pleasure to be able to use it for my work.’

We can’t help but echo Mr de Marchi’s sentiments: solid wood is a truly ab-fab material, with plenty of unique features, environmental benefits (if sustainably-sourced, as our timber is), durability, and a warmth that will last for many years. That’s why all of our stunning wood worktops and kitchen units are fashioned from 100% solid timber: we believe that it is quite unbeatable!

If you’d like to learn more about the deTerra ethos, or our gorgeous natural kitchens, why not take a peek at our brilliant brochure? This can be viewed online or, if you’d prefer to flick through a hard copy, simply fill out our brochure request form – we’d be more than happy to pop a copy in the post to you.

Howdy kitchen collective,

Here at deTerra kitchens, my colleagues and I have worked incredibly hard to give our customers a cool collection of components for wood kitchens, and this isn’t just limited to our extensive range of oak kitchen units and oak kitchen cupboard doors.

Indeed, it’s our range of deTerra kitchen accessories that makes our kitchens look so beautifully finished. Our wide range of extras includes frontal accessories, oak plinths and installation accessories, as well as our simply sublime range of kitchen splashbacks.

It’s these stain guards that are the subject of my attentions here on the blog today. Splashbacks are a fab alternative to tiles behind a kitchen cooker hob, and both add an additional decorative detail to kitchens, whilst being incredibly easy to wipe clean after messy meal preparation. Our range includes a funky bunch of glass options that come in a range of colours, alongside stainless steel alternatives.

For classic solid wood kitchens, why not consider one of our simple white glass splashbacks? Modern kitchens can benefit from the choice of bright red glass, high-contrast black glass or either silver or black stainless steel finishes, which gives kitchen designers a wealth of options.

If you’d like to take a closer look at our splashbacks, feel free to visit one of the deTerra Kitchen Showrooms.

Ta ta for now,

The deTerra Diarist.
